Purpose: | Installation of Two (2) New 132kV Feeders 90C and 91H between Peakhurst and Kogarah Substations. |
Description: | A Turnkey Project that was completed in August 2009 from the existing transmission substation at Peakhurst to a new substation in Railway Avenue Kogarah, through the south western suburbs of Sydney. The installation covered a distance of 10km and included a tunnel under the Southern railway line. The cable route included section lengths in excess of 900m and cable with a 2000mm sq conductor size. Cable drums were in excess of 4.3m in diameter and up to 35 tonnes in weight. The project was completed ahead of the original schedule developed at the start of the project some 16 months earlier which allowed Energy Australia to energise its new Kogarah substation prior to the summer peak load period. |
